High SAT scores are strongly associated with favorable college prospects. The University of Georgia is an example of a moderately selective institution with an acceptance rate of approximately 53%. The middle-50% SAT scores for students offered regular admission were between 1850 and 2140 on the pre-2016 2400-point scale, which College Board concordance tables show to be roughly equivalent to 2016 SAT scores of 1290-1485. The University of Georgia also admits a small number of honors students, who are less than 10% of the class. Middle 50% scores for Georgia honors students are 2130-2240, or 1480-1535 on the new scale. About 14% of students in the first-year class at Georgia are offered academic scholarships, and the combined SAT critical reading and math scores for these students are 1300 (25th percentile) to 1480 (75th percentile), or 1360-1515 on the new SAT. Upper-percentile SAT performance comes with a number of benefits, including more choices for college attendance, honors admission, and eligibility for merit-based scholarships.

Meet a Copenhagen SAT Tutor: Trent S.

Hundreds of students have praised the SAT teaching of Trent S., who has been a Manhattan Review SAT educator in New York City and Copenhagen since 2011. "He showed me how to focus my SAT prep, which saved me a great deal of time," said one of Trent's recent SAT students. "It's not easy to make SAT prep interesting, but Trent's teaching does the job," said a private tutoring client.

Trent was born and raised outside of Chicago, Illinois, graduating third in a high school class of 400. He completed a bachelor's degree in mathematics at Northwestern University and a master's degree in education at the University of Michigan. His SAT scores and his GRE scores were both in the top 1% of all test-takers, and his strong performance on standardized tests helped him qualify for scholarships.
